The Algerian picked up the problem in Monday's session and admits he was terrified that he had done some serious damage. Bougherra subsequently missed the Champions League defeat to Unirea Urziceni and Rangers later announced he would be out for the next couple of weeks at least. However, the 27-year-old is hopeful that he will be back much sooner as he awaits further scans to determine the full extent of the injury. "I was training normally on Monday when I slipped over on my own. I will not hide from you I had the scare of my life at that moment," Bougherra said in the Daily Record. "I was in real pain. My knee went one way and the rest of my body went in the other direction. I was the victim of a twisted knee. "I hope it is not serious but I will know in the next 24 hours. The knee was too badly swollen for a deep examination at the start of the week. "If it is God's will it won't be too serious but I am a little bit embarrassed because I cannot play for Rangers at the moment and am going to miss the matches coming up. "I am so disappointed I missed the Champions League game. "I am disappointed but it could have been worse because when I saw how my knee was twisted I was really scared. "But I hope to be playing again this month."
