Beasley happy with Gers stay

Rangers' American winger DaMarcus Beasley has rubbished recent rumours linking him with a January transfer away from Ibrox.

The 27-year-old was out of the first-team picture with the Gers earlier on in the campaign, but is now back in the fold and has netted in both of his last two games, against Dundee United and Motherwell.

He told the Daily Record: "The gaffer and I had a talk about my situation. It was straightforward - I just needed playing time.

"He understood, it was a man-to-man talk. I wanted to play and now he's giving me a chance.

"I didn't want to leave, I just wanted to play. Maybe I didn't choose my words properly, but I've never wanted to leave.

"I would be happy to stay beyond January if things stay as they are."
