Beasley keen to remain at Ibrox
The United States international is out of contract in the summer, meaning he is now free to speak to other clubs who are interested in his services.[LNB]A future at Rangers looked unlikely a couple of months ago when the winger found himself on the periphery of the squad after failing to force his way back into the team after recovering from injury.[LNB]However, Beasley enjoyed a sensational return to action last month when he was thrown back into Walter Smith's plans to great effect, with his impressive form coinciding with an excellent run of results.[LNB]Unfortunately, injury struck again and he is now battling his way back from a thigh tear which has kept him out of the last three games.[LNB]He says reclaiming his place in the first team is his priority but reiterated his desire to remain at Rangers - if club bosses make a move to keep him.[LNB]"I've not spoken to Rangers or anybody else about what I'm going to do after the six months," said Beasley.[LNB]"I'll see what goes on and what happens in the last half of the season.[LNB]"I've never said I want to leave so if they came to me, my representatives would sit down and talk to them and see what is the best thing for me.[LNB]"If the best thing is for me to stay, I would be more than happy to stay.[LNB]"I've only played five or six games so it's kind of hard for me to talk about contract talks.[LNB]"I just want to play and get back in the team and show why they bought me."[LNB]Asked whether he will exercise his right to speak to other clubs this month, he admitted: "I don't know yet.[LNB]"I'm just trying to get back in the team and get fit. What happens in January will happen, but I'm not looking to leave.[LNB]"If something came along that I couldn't pass up, then so be it. But, at the same time, I'm not looking to leave. I want to stay."[LNB]Kris Boyd and Pedro Mendes are among those who have been linked with January departures and, although his own future remains uncertain, Beasley insists retaining key personnel this season is crucial to winning the Scottish Premier League again.[LNB]"Yes, 100%," he said.[LNB]"When you look at the team now, if a couple of guys get injured, we're pretty thin in every position. We need our guys to stay.[LNB]"With myself and Pedro Mendes and Steven Naismith to come back into the team, it's going to create problems for the gaffer to pick who is going to play but it's a good problem to have.[LNB]"We need everyone to stay - Boydy, Pedro. All the people that have been mentioned, we need them to stay and help us to regain the title and be back-to-back champions."[LNB]Beasley was frustrated to miss important matches over the last few weeks, none more so than last weekend's Old Firm derby.[LNB]But he believes the point garnered from the clash with Celtic means the Scottish champions now have more than just a numerical advantage as they head into the second half of the season seven points clear of their rivals.[LNB]Beasley said: "The last three games - Hibs, Dundee United and Celtic - were pretty much the three toughest games we had in the first half of the season.[LNB]"We got the results we wanted. We didn't play as well as we wanted to in the Celtic game but we got a point and I think that is going to be a very crucial point come the end of the season.[LNB]"I think it gives us a mental advantage as well.[LNB]"Anybody can say they played better than we did and created more chances and that Georgios Samaras and Aiden McGeady were a thorn in our side.[LNB]"But we came away with a point and that's the most important thing."[LNB][LNB] Scottish Premier League.
