Beasley bemoans lack of a break

Several Scottish Cup ties set to take place this weekend have already been postponed, with severe conditions showing no signs of letting up.[LNB]But Beasley admits that, more than anything, he would like a few weeks off work during the holiday period so he could see more of family and friends back home in the United States.[LNB]The 27-year-old American recently confessed he would be spending Christmas Day on his own and insisted: "I think there should be a winter break.[LNB]"My first year when I was at PSV we had a winter break but the second year they changed it and it was like Britain and they didn't have one.[LNB]"I enjoyed having a break, especially as a foreigner. From July to May, we don't get to go home and see our families much, especially at this time of year when you have Christmas and new year.[LNB]"For me, I would definitely want a break but other people don't see it that way."[LNB]Beasley says he has suffered as a result of heavy snowfall, admitting: "I've had a couple of problems. The BMWs are not the best in the snow and I had to get pulled out twice.[LNB]"I've had my hazards on in the middle of the street but guys have been nice enough to stop and I got out.[LNB]"It was quite funny but people were nice and helped me, which was good."[LNB]Beasley is on the road to recovery after suffering a thigh tear which has kept him out of the last three games, having only just made a sensational return to the first team.[LNB]He does not expect to play a part in Sunday's cup tie at Hamilton if the game goes ahead, but hopes to be back in Walter Smith's plans for the Scottish Premier League clash at New Douglas Park the following week.[LNB]He said: "The fitness is going pretty well although, if the game is on this weekend, I think I would still be out.[LNB]"Next weekend is looking more likely so I'm hoping that happens. But the injury is going pretty well.[LNB]"It's always disappointing when you get an injury, especially when you are in the team and playing. But it happens.[LNB]"I've had some bad luck in my two-and-a-half years here so far and hopefully this can be the last of my injuries and I can play through the rest of the season."[LNB][LNB]
