Bardsley stays at Ibrox
26 Oct 2006 - 07:35:49
Full-back Phil Bardsley looks set to remain on loan at Rangers after manager Paul Le Guen offered the Manchester United defender a lifeline.
Bardsley was left out of the Gers squad that travelled to Italy for a UEFA Cup game last week amid reports that a training ground incident with team-mate Thomas Buffel.
He was again omitted from the side that defeated St Mirren in the SPL last weekend, but the Rangers boss appears to have now forgiven the youngster.
"The Bardsley situation is now in the past," said Le Guen. "Now it is up to him to show he can behave well and have good spirit in the team. He must learn his lesson.
"I called Sir Alex Ferguson because he is their player and he is on loan to us. I felt it was my job to keep him informed.
"I will think about him in the future by taking into account good behaviour and, most importantly, good behaviour on the pitch."
