Ally saddened by disappointing week

Friday saw the Ibrox club suspend Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor for two weeks without pay following their antics while on international duty with Scotland. Ferguson was also stripped of the captaincy, while both players were banned from ever representing their country again after giving V-signs to photographers during last Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Iceland. They had been dropped for that match following an early-hours drinking session at the team hotel the previous weekend. The pair's Rangers future is now in doubt. and it has disrupted the club's bid to wrest the Scottish Premier League title from arch-rivals Celtic. "It is a week we could have done without," McCoist told Rangers TV. "Although the lads misbehaved when they were away with the international team, that could have been the whole thing done and dusted. "I know the manager spoke to Barry and Allan. Unfortunately, they carried on in their actions on the Wednesday. That disappointed the manager and everybody at the club. "The manager and club have taken action. We have to stand by that and move on. It is as disappointing a week in terms of things like that as I have ever had."
