Rangers goalkeeper Neil Alexander revealed his hunger for trophy success was the main factor behind his decision to sign a new contract.
Alexander has committed himself to the Clydesdale Bank Premier League champions until the summer of 2013.
The 32-year-old is second choice behind Allan McGregor but he had no second thoughts over agreeing to the contract, which has been in the pipeline for several weeks.
The former Cardiff and Ipswich goalkeeper said: "I have always said that I am happy at Rangers. As a young boy growing up you look at Rangers as one of the top clubs in the world and I always wanted to play for a club like that.
"I have worked my whole career to get to a club like Rangers so why would I want to be in a hurry to leave?
"I'm just delighted to be involved in the tremendous successes at Rangers. I hadn't won a lot before I came to Rangers and now I have won every domestic honour going so it's fantastic. I am very keen to win more."
McGregor has arguably been in the best form of his career for club and country in recent weeks, with Alexander's only SPL appearance this season coming when the number one was suspended for the 4-1 win over Motherwell.
But, through a mixture of McGregor's injury and indiscretion, plus manager Walter Smith's decision to play his number two goalkeeper in the Co-operative Insurance Cup, Alexander has played in four cup finals since arriving at Ibrox in January 2008.
"Obviously I would like to play more but I feel I have been involved in more matches than I thought I would," Alexander told www.rangersfc.co.uk. "I have played 42 matches and if I had been told that would happen before I signed then I would have been delighted.
"Hopefully I can continue to get games in the next three years."
