Raith without five injured players for Rangers clash

Raith Rovers are five players down when Championship leaders Rangers visit Stark's Park.

Skipper Jason Thomson is missing with a back injury along with Lewis Toshney (hamstring), Kyle Benedictus (knee), Craig Barr (groin) and Lewis Vaughan (knee).

But Craig Wighton is back in the squad after the on-loan Dundee striker was not allowed to play in the Scottish Cup win over Elgin last weekend.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "We need everyone at the top of their game for this one. They are flying just now but we can get a result if we play like we have been doing at home all season."

Dean Shiels is in line to return to the Rangers midfield.

The Northern Irishman was sidelined for the 4-0 win over Dumbarton on Tuesday night with a stiff neck but has resumed to training.

Defender Danny Wilson is back after missing the Sons match due to his wife giving birth to a son, but midfielder Nicky Law, winger David Templeton and goalkeeper Cammy Bell remain out with knee injuries.
