Midfielder Mensing missing

Raith Rovers will be without midfield powerhouse Simon Mensing against visitors Morton after he was ruled out with a hamstring problem.

Better news for manager Grant Murray is that Dougie Hill is free to play as the suspension he incurred last week after getting sent off against Deveronvale will be served in the Scottish Cup and Allan Walker is available again after a two-game ban.

Murray said: "Morton are a good side and are not sitting in third place for no reason. We matched them very closely at their place in a game where the first goal was going to be the winner and unfortunately they got it.

"They have a lot of threat in their team but so have we, so it should be a really engrossing encounter."

Morton have defender Craig Reid starting a two-game ban.

The Greenock men are also missing broken leg victim Stephen Stirling and foot injury sufferer Peter MacDonald, but top scorer Archie Campbell could return after a groin problem.

Morton manager Allan Moore said: "Both ourselves and Raith had tough games against Highland League opposition last week and will be looking to move on from there.

"There is no reason why we cannot go to their place and win but we will need to take our chances. That is something that we did not do at Turriff and is the reason we drew. It will be good to get the shooting boots on and win this one ahead of our replay."
