Hill banned for Rovers

Raith will again be without Dougie Hill through suspension with the defender sitting out for a fourth game running when Dumbarton visit a muddy Stark's Park.

On-loan Hearts winger David Smith is a major doubt due to a hamstring problem as the Kirkcaldy club look for the win that will open up a five-point gap on their resurgent opponents.

Player-manager Grant Murray said: "Our last league game against Morton was three weeks ago and we played well that day before holding Celtic to the one goal until the last few minutes in the cup the following week. Hopefully we can get back to that form quickly.

"Dumbarton played really well here earlier in the season and have improved since then so we are well warned."

Dumbarton add new signings Nicky Phinn and Owen Ronald to their squad as they look for the win that will move them above their hosts in the First Division table.

Player-manager Ian Murray is hoping to add one more new face before kick-off.

Not such good news is that goalkeeper Jamie Ewings is out with a jaw injury, Andy Graham drops out with a broken wrist, Chris Turner and Mark Gilhaney are suspended and Steven McDougall is a doubt with a medial ligament injury.

Murray may have to include himself despite only playing 45 minutes of reserve-team football recently, with the Dumbarton boss saying: "We have a few issues to contend with but we are going to Raith in good spirits and determined to get the win that will keep us climbing the table."
