Raith prepare for derby number one

Raith Rovers play the first of two Fife Derbies in a row when they host Cowdenbeath just four days before they visit Dunfermline,

The Stark's Park side welcome back Simon Mensing following a hamstring injury, but midfielder Jason Thomson is banned for the meeting with the Blue Brazil.

Kirkcaldy manager Grant Murray predicts both sides will attack each other.

Murray said: "The last game was a cracker and it ended 4-4. I am sure this one will be the same but hopefully we can score more goals than Cowdenbeath this time.

"We have not picked up too many wins recently and dropped a couple of places as a result so it would be good to start addressing that by picking up three points in this game."

Cowdenbeath are without suspended defender Kenny Adamson.

The Blue Brazil will also be missing Greg Stewart and Liam Cusack through injury, with the game coming too soon for Scott Linton, who is training again after knee surgery.

Player/manager Colin Cameron said: "We have not won for 11 games in the league but we have been close to picking up three points in a lot of those games but have not carried any luck at all.

"We played Raith earlier this season and were ahead by two goals twice before having to accept a 4-4 draw when they scored with the last kick of the game. Hopefully things will turn for us soon."
