Weatherson shines for Raith A late equaliser by substitute striker Pete Weatherson rescued a point for Morton in their 2-2 draw with Scottish First Division leaders Raith. The home side were 2-0 up at half-time thanks to goals by John Baird and Allan Walker. Baird opened the scoring in the 16th minute, beating Morton keeper Colin Stewart with a right-footed shot from the centre of the area. Walker then doubled the advantage after half an hour when his shot found the back of the net from 12 yards. However, the visitors found their form after the break. Derek Lyle pulled a goal back in the 53rd minute when his right-footed strike found the top-right corner of David McGurn`s goal. Raith looked to have closed out the game, but Weatherson, a tactical switch five minutes after the break, scored in the bottom-left corner from 25-yards in the 89th minute to share the points.
