06 November 2010 23:43
Conroy sinks leaders Raith Ryan Conroy's 75th-minute strike gave Queen of the South a 1-0 victory at top-of-the-table Raith. Conroy collected William McLaren's pass before slotting into the bottom corner from inside the penalty area to secure a first league victory for the Doonhammers in four matches. In match of very few clear-cut opportunities the home side's best chance came after 39 minutes when Craig Wilson shot wide when well placed inside the penalty area. Wilson, Stephen Simmons and Gregory Tade also missed the target with long-range efforts for Rovers who only forced visiting goalkeeper David Hutton into action from corners which he dealt with well. Where as Queens' goal from Conroy was their only threatening move in the whole match.
