Flannigan spot-on for Alloa

Iain Flannigan's late penalty gave Ladbrokes Championship bottom-side Alloa a 1-0 win at Raith.

Iain Davidson fouled Flannigan in the area with four minutes left and the midfielder sent Kevin Cuthbert the wrong way to earn his side their second successive away win and only their third league victory of the campaign.

Raith, who have now won just one of their last nine league games, should have taken the lead in the first half but Mitch Megginson headed wide from debutant Louis Longridge's cross.

Alloa striker Isaac Layne went close on a couple of occasions, first being denied by Cuthbert and then coming within centimetres of turning in Michael Duffy's cross.

But the visitors were not to be denied as Flannigan struck to cut the gap to ninth-placed Livingston to four points.
