Torrejon heads to Santander

Racing Santander have won the race to sign central defender Marc Torrejon from Espanyol.

The 22-year-old Spain Under-21 international had also been a target for Real Zaragoza and Real Mallorca, but opted for a move to El Sardinero after slipping down the pecking order at Espanyol.

Torrejon said after sealing his switch: "The past year was not especially good for me and my idea was to leave, with my main options being Mallorca and Racing.

"The coach here spoke to me and gave me a lot of confidence. Now I just want to work hard and to give everything for the club."
