Mandia pays the price at Racing

Racing Santander manager Juan Carlos Mandia has paid the price for his side's poor start to the La Liga season and been dismissed by the Los Verdiblancos board.

He had only been in the role for four months after replacing Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz in the summer but the 42-year-old coach has found the going tough.

The club loiter in 17th place in the table with just seven points from ten games and have won just once so far this season.

It is thought that Juanjo Gonzalez and Fede Castano will take charge of the first team for Wednesday's Copa del Rey second leg clash against Salamanca as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit.
