Why QPR will stay up but not entirely because of January signings
A staggering £120 million spent in January by English Premier League clubs on transfers. A sum, believed to be double of what was spent during the same period last year. Fight for survival in the best league was evident as, QPR were significant contributorsto this amount. Off the six players bought, the biggest signing of the transfer window was undoubtedly Christopher Samba from Anzhi, for a monstrous £12.5 million with wages estimated to be £1,00,000 a week.
Loic Remy & Jermaine Jenas were the other big name singings made. However, QPR’s best signing of the season has to be their manager, Harry Redknapp. Since joining (November ’12) the London club, fortunes turned forthwith as, victory which was eluded them for 13 games was achieved in his fourth attempt. Harry Houdini’s magic is already on display.
Under Mark Hughes
Under Harry Redknapp
It’s evident to see Redknapp’s influence on the team. With theseastute singings, it’s evident he’s brought in players with Premier League experience & the know-how to be up for a fight. The fixture list is also favourable as, of the 14 games remaining only three of last season’s topsix remain to be faced. Redknapp knows survival techniques all too well and he can easily Get QPR Out Of Jail.
