Stitches won't sideline Gorkss
14 Apr 2009 - 13:53:10
QPR defender Kaspars Gorkss should be able to start against Wolves despite suffering a facial injury in the Easter Monday victory against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Latvian was forced to have 30 stitches in the wound after being sent to Charing Cross Hospital following the dramatic 3-2 win.
Head physio Paul Hunter told the club's official website: "The cut was down to the very bone. The gash itself was about two-and-a-half inches deep, so he'll be quite sore.
"But the specialists have given him the go-ahead to resume full training on Thursday with the rest of the lads and, assuming he has no setbacks between now and then, he'll be in contention for the trip to Wolves at the weekend."
