Smith extends Loftus stay

QPR boss John Gregory has praised loan star Jimmy Smith after agreeing to extend the Chelsea teenager's spell at Loftus Road until the end of December.

The 19-year-old joined the club at the end of September and has scored two goals in six appearances for the improving Championship side.

"I'm delighted that Chelsea have given us permission to take him for a further two months," Gregory told the club's official website.

"He's been fantastic for us in the last four weeks and I'm confident that we'll see more of the same in the next two months.

"He's a great character to have around the place. His professionalism is second to none and it's rubbing off on all the other lads in the squad.

"He sets such high standards of himself and that can only be good for Queens Park Rangers Football Club.''
