QPR have suspended manager Jim Magilton following a dispute between the former Ipswich Town boss and midfielder Akos Buzsaky on Monday.
The 40-year-old former Northern Ireland midfielder had previously played down the incident, describing it as a 'difference of opinion' but the club have since released a statement confirming the suspension.
The statement, released on the official club website, announced that Magilton will be "suspended with immediate effect, pending an internal investigation.
"The suspension relates to an incident which occurred at Monday's Championship fixture against Watford at Vicarage Road."
The punishment is a serious blow to Magilton, who has already received some criticism after failing to turn QPR into a top Championship side since his appointment in June this year.
