QPR boss Gary Waddock is keen to tie midfielder Martin Rowlands down to a new contract, with his current deal due to run out at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old moved to Loftus Road in the summer of 2003 from Brentford and has made just over 100 first-team appearances for Rangers, although he missed a large part of last term due to injury.
Waddock confirmed: "We're going through the process of sorting out a new contract and hopefully it will happen soon.
"Martin missed a large part of last season through injury, but he has started this season very well.
"He's a good footballer and is someone we feel will take this club forward."
