R's seal permanent Vine deal
09 Jan 2008 - 08:39:45
Queens Park Rangers have continued their busy transfer window after signing Birmingham striker Rowan Vine for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old, who has already spent three months on loan at Loftus Road this season, has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year contract with the London club.
Vine netted three times in 18 appearances while on loan and has cost the R's a reported £1million.
"As soon as I was informed that a permanent deal could be on the cards, I was absolutely delighted," he told the club's official website.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my loan spell here and in the first few days of the transfer window the club have made their intentions clear with the quality they have already brought in."
Rangers coach Luigi De Canio has now signed eight players since the transfer window opened at the beginning of the month.
The Italian has spent an estimated £3.5million of billionaire owners' Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal's money.
