R's make swift Hart appointment
17 Dec 2009 - 10:33:07
Paul Hart has been named as QPR's new manager just a month after being axed by Portsmouth.
Hart will be assisted by Mick Harford with both men signing deals that run until the end of this season.
Hart replaced Tony Adams in the Fratton Park hot-seat last season and guided the club away from the relegation zone.
The 56-year-old left Pompey with the club at the foot of the Premier League table although many pundits thought he had been harshly treated because of the off-field chaos that has enveloped the club in the last few months.
Hart succeeds Jim Magilton, whose brief managerial reign at Loftus Road came to an end on Wednesday evening, as did that of his assistant John Gorman.
Magilton was suspended last week following accusations of a physical confrontation with midfielder Akos Buzsaky after the 3-1 Championship defeat by Watford.
Magilton denied the allegations but chairman Flavio Briatore still sacked a manager who was only appointed in June.
The Northern Irishman was the fifth permanent manager to work under Briatore since he took over the club two years ago.
