Quashie returns to Rangers

Former Scotland international Nigel Quashie has rejoined QPR after being released by West Ham United.

The 31-year-old left Loftus Road more than a decade ago since when he has played for Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion before joining the Hammers three years ago.

However, he featured in only eight matches for West Ham and was loaned out to Birmingham City, Wolves and MK Dons during his ill-fated time at Upton Park.

Quashie told QPR's official website: "It's great to be back home and I'm delighted to be at a club that I love to pieces.

"I had a good time when I was here before and the fans were very good to me. I'm a fan of the club myself so I know what they demand. There are some excellent players here and it's nice to come back and be a part of it.

"We've got a chance to get into the play-offs and, if we can do that and then get into the Premier League, the whole place will just take off."
