QPR defender Damion Stewart is confident of being fit for the start of next season after suffering a fractured skull. The Jamaica international, 29, was released from hospital on Friday, seven days after cracking his skull and sustaining bleeding on the brain in an aerial collision with Crystal Palace's Calvin Andrew.Stewart, who is still getting slight headaches and will have another scan next month, admitted he had no idea how bad the injury was at the time."I wasn't aware how serious it was to begin with but then my nose started bleeding. When I got up I felt a massive headache all the way across my forehead," he told Rangers' official website."I didn't say I couldn't continue. To be honest I wanted to ice it and then see how I felt. But the physio wasn't having it - he told me my game was over."The doctor has said I should be okay for pre-season and that is my aim."
