No end in sight for injured Vine
02 Oct 2008 - 07:10:28
QPR strikerRowan Vine's long-awaited return to action has been put on hold after it was confirmed that the 26-year-old's broken leg is taking longer than was anticipated to heal.
The former Birmingham City and Luton Town forward has already been sidelined for six months after suffering the injury in a freak training ground incident.
Head physio Paul Hunter told the club's official website: "We saw the specialist again and were told that he needs to hold fire on the final push of his rehabilitation to allow for greater bone consolidation.
"We're waiting on nature to take its course now to be honest. It's hard to predict how long he'll be sidelined for, but we'll be back at the specialists again in four weeks time and reassess thereafter.
"Rowan's deeply frustrated, but he's been first class throughout the whole rehabilitation process and he needs to maintain that attitude now.
"Of course it's frustrating, but the backroom staff are behind him, as are the players, and we'll make sure we help him through this awkward period."
