Mackie: A learning experience
Published : 11 Oct 2010 16:00:22

QPR striker Jamie Mackie admitted his debut for Scotland was a tough introduction to international football.Mackie has scored eight goals this term but had to adapt to manager Craig Levein's controversial 4-6-0 formation which went down 1-0 against the Czech Republic on Friday night."Everyone at QPR knows me as an attacking force but I was asked to do a job by the manager and I thought I did that," he told Rangers' official website."It would have been difficult for the Scotland fans to judge me as a player on that one performance but hopefully they will get to like what they see."It was a tough game but I'd like to think I have learned a lot from the experience and that should stand me in good stead for the future."The Scots now face a daunting clash with world champions Spain on Tuesday and Mackie added: "Fingers crossed I'll get another chance. It will be a huge test."
