Injury-plagued midfielder Martin Rowlands could be set for a long spell on the sidelines after being forced out of Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifying match against Montenegro after just 40 minutes.
The QPR star suffered a knee injury in his first international start, an especially serious blow to his fitness after the 30-year-old only recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury two months ago.
Head physio Paul Hunter was cautious on Thursday, telling the official club website: "We'll have a look at him when he comes to the training ground today, and then take him for a scan.
"Obviously we will know more once we get those results back.
"It's too early to speculate at this stage as to the seriousness of the problem. We will know more in the next 24 hours."
