Hall nearing Hoops return

Queens Park Rangers defender Fitz Hall is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a groin injury.

The 27-year-old centre-half joined the R's at the turn of the year from Wigan Athletic, but was injured during the 3-1 reverse at Cardiff City at the end of January and had been expected to be out for six weeks.

However, the big stopper has joined in with training during the club's short break in Portugal and could return to the fold earlier than expected.

Head physio Paul Hunter told the club's official website: "Fitz is doing really well and he's been able to join in with some aspects of first-team training in Portugal.

"We'll continue to monitor his rehabilitation closely over the coming days, but we're pleased with the progress he is making."
