Gregory signs Blues ace

QPR boss Jim Gregory has moved quickly in the transfer market to complete the loan signing of 19-year-old Chelsea midfielder Jimmy Smith.

The England under-19 international has made just one appearance for the Blues, as a second-half substitute for Ricardo Carvalho in the final game of last season at Newcastle.

However, Smith's opportunities at Stamford Bridge are limited so Gregory has offered him the chance to gain some first-team experience with the Championship strugglers at Loftus Road.

He joined up with the rest of the squad on Wednesday and could be set to make his Hoops debut against Southampton this weekend.
