Gregory hails Hoops troops

John Gregory hailed his Queens Park Rangers players after a 1-0 home win over Cardiff City ensured an escape from relegation from the Championship.

Dexter Blackstock's first-half goal was enough to seal a crucial three points and Gregory was quick to praise his players for their fighting qualities.

He said: "The players at QPR have been under pressure from the very first game - since before I came here.

"They've constantly been trying to get out of the relegation zone and have shown unbelievable character, determination, courage and resolve.

"More than anything, the spirit in the dressing room is what has got us out of trouble.

"I am absolutely delighted for everyone at this football club.

"Celebrating not being relegated might seem strange to people on the outside, but this club has been through so much in the last year or so."
