Gorkss targets Rangers stay
03 Dec 2008 - 13:56:05
Queens Park Rangers defender Kaspars Gorkss has dismissed suggestions that he could leave Loftus Road after just a matter of months with the Championship club.
The 27-year-old Latvia international has made only eight appearances since his summer switch from Blackpool, but Gorkss is content to stay put after starting against both Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace.
He told the Kilburn Times: "I think there was loads of talk around, but I haven't personally spoken to anyone.
"I only just came here and I want to prove to everyone that I'm not a waste of time, that I deserve to be in this team and to be in the gaffer's plans for the future.
"To be honest, every footballer is frustrated when he isn't playing and happy when he is.
"Now I'm looking forward to every game and I want to stay happy for longer than I did before."
