Dowie axe talk intensifies

Reports suggest QPR manager Iain Dowie could be axed after falling out with the club's co-owner Flavio Briatore.
The former Crystal Palace and Leicester City boss has only been at Loftus Road for three months, but The Times reports that he clashed with Briatore about the proposed transfer of an unknown striker from the Middle East.
Dowie dismissed the reported row as 'rumours' on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, the club has announced that it has completed the repayment of a £10million loan from ABC that was taken out in 2002 to assist the club in coming out of administration.
