Diarra knocks back Rangers

QPR have been knocked back in their bid to sign Chelsea youngster Lassana Diarra on loan.
Rangers boss John Gregory was keen to sign the highly-rated midfielder in January to link up with fellow Blues youngsters Jimmy Smith and Michael Mancienne, who are already on loan at Loftus Road.
Gregory looks to have successfully extended the loans of both Smith and Mancienne until the end of the season, but Diarra has rejected the chance of a short-term move to the Championship side.
"We tried, but I don't think Diarra wants to play in the Championship. I think he will go on loan to another Premiership club," revealed Gregory.
"I think Diarra feels he is better than that (playing in the Championship) which he probably is. He is an outstanding young player."
