Cook to miss start of season
20 Jul 2010 - 13:43:47
Queens Park Rangers winger Lee Cook has been struck down by yet another injury and he is set to miss the first two months of the Championship campaign.
The 27-year-old has struggled with a number of knee injuries in recent years and he has now been told to strengthen the muscles in order to stave off a similar problem in the future.
Manager Neil Warnock has admitted he faces a spell on the sidelines, although an operation isn't required.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "We're disappointed for the lad.
"It appears he wasn't given the right advice regarding his rehabilitation and he could be out for a couple of months now.
"He doesn't require another operation but he needs to rest up for quite a significant period of time."
