Queens Park Rangers have wrapped up a second signing in a day, snapping up young defender Matthew Connolly for an undisclosed fee from Arsenal.
The 20-year-old has agreed a deal running until the summer of 2011 at Loftus Road, having struggled to make a first-team impact with the Gunners.
Connolly told his new club's official website: "It's very difficult to make the breakthrough at a club like Arsenal, so when QPR made an offer I knew it was the right time to move on.
"Arsenal provided me with a great launch-pad, but I need to be playing first-team football at my age and this is a fantastic club for me to pursue my career at.
"I know what the Championship is all about after my spell at Colchester United."
Connolly spent the first half of the current campaign on loan at Colchester United, while last term he spent nearly two months with Bournemouth.
