Campbell trains sights on England

New QPR signing DJ Campbell admits it is nice to "come home" and has now targeted an England call-up.

The 29-year-old rejoined the club with whom he spent his formative years on Thursday, penning a two-year deal at Loftus Road to end his successful spell with Blackpool.

"I've got ambitions with my national team, which hopefully one day I can achieve, and that was a big part of me coming back into the Premier League," Campbell told talkSPORT.

Campbell snubbed interest interest from other clubs in the Barclays Premier League to become manager Neil Warnock's fourth summer signing and admitted it is great to return to west London.

"I can't wait. Obviously I left a great club in Blackpool but I have signed for another great club in QPR," he said.

"It is a club that I supported as a boy and I am looking forward to it.

"Every game in this league is going to be hard as a I knew last season but the gaffer has a good squad here and hopefully we can all stick together and push in the same direction.

"Everyone in this league can be beaten but obviously you can beaten by every team in this league so it is going to be tough but it is a challenge we're looking forward to.

"There were a few clubs in for me but QPR are my home club and the club I supported as a boy.

"It is the area I know very as that is where my family is from and stuff. When I found out they were interested it was great to come home."
