Buzsaky blow stuns R's
04 Jun 2008 - 14:11:53
QPR midfielder Akos Buzsaky will miss the start of next season after being forced to have ankle surgery.
The Hungarian will be sidelined for at least 12 weeks after having an operation on a problem he first picked up in March.
Head physiotherapist Paul Hunter told the club's official website: "It's a big blow.
"Akos aggravated the tendon in his left ankle while on international duty at the end of March and, although we tried to treat it extensively, the problem persisted and the specialists decided surgery was the best option.
"The operation went as planned and Akos will be in plaster for a couple of weeks, which will allow the tendon to heal.
"He'll then go into a boot for a further couple of weeks which will protect the tendon while it's still healing and allow him to start working on the range and movement in his ankle."
