Blackstock dismissal stands

Queens Park Rangers have lost their appeal against striker Dexter Blackstock's sending-off in the 3-1 defeat at Stoke City.

Blackstock was ordered off by referee Uriah Rennie for a clash with Ryan Shawcross just after the start of the second half of the game at the Britannia Stadium.

Rangers had hoped that the FA would rescind the red card on appeal, but that has not proved to be the case.

Blackstock will now have to sit out the upcoming meetings with Blackpool, Crystal Palace and Scunthorpe United.

R's performance manager, Joe Dunbar, had said after the game: "When the opposition dugout is saying to you that it seemed a bit harsh and when the opposition players are telling the referee it was a harsh decision, you start to draw your own conclusions."
