Ainsworth out for the season

QPR manager John Gregory has admitted that the loss of Gareth Ainsworth for the rest of the season is a massive blow for the club.

The 33-year-old suffered a broken fibula as QPR came from behind to secure a vital 3-2 win against Luton Town that eased their relegation concerns.

But Gregory told the club's official website: "X-rays on Monday night confirmed our worse fears that Gaz will miss the remainder of the season.

"However, being the positive person that he is, Gaz reliably informed me that he will only miss four games!

"It's a big, big blow for us. He's been inspirational, particularly in the last five or six weeks, where he has turned in possibly his best performances of the campaign.''
