Southampton outcome will not affect job, says Mark Hughes Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes insists his future does not depend on Saturday's match with Southampton. QPR are currently bottom of the Premier League with four points and no wins - but Hughes claims the club has enjoyed progression since his arrival. "My future doesn't hinge on this match," said the 49-year-old Welshman. "The club has moved forward in a massive way since I came in the door through the work I and my staff have done." Mark Hughes at QPR Manager since: January 2012 Total games: 33 Wins: Eight Draws: Six Defeats: 19 Win %: 24 Hughes replaced Neil Warnock at Loftus Road in January 2011. with the club 17th - the same position they would finish the season after final day dramatics against Manchester City. The club have failed to win a Premier League game in 11 attempts this season, scoring eight goals and conceding 20, making Saturday's match with 19th-place Southampton highly anticipated. The Saints lie a point ahead of Rangers having only won one game this season, with Nigel Adkins accepting he is favourite to be the first managerial casualty in the division this season - although he expects neither himself nor Hughes to lose their jobs after Saturday's game at Loftus Road. But despite the difficult start to the season, Hughes is thankful for the support he has received. "People shouldn't underestimate the changes that have gone on at the club and I have been a big part of that," said Hughes. "I have had great support from everyone. That doesn't just get swept aside because we are in a difficult situation. "It is because of that work we have done before that sustains you and allows you time to get through this period." QPR chairman Tony Fernandes publicly backed the former Manchester City, Blackburn and Fulham manager last month, insisting he is the "right man" to manage the club.
