Alloa ease to victory

Leaders Alloa continued to showcase their title credentials as they thumped third-placed Queens Park 4-0 at Recreation Park.

Alloa were ahead inside the first 15 minutes when Robert Winters fired in a right-footed strike from six yards out.

The home side doubled their lead just before the hour mark, Winters grabbing his second as he pounced on Stephen May's cross to power a shot home.

Paul Hartley's side were always in command, and they were rewarded for a superb display as May turned in Craig Campbell's right-wing delivery four minutes from time before Graeme Holmes made it four with an 18-yard strike.

The win keeps Alloa 11 points ahead of nearest challengers Stranraer and on track to bounce straight back into the Scottish Second Division.
