We need a goalscorer - Harford

QPR boss Mick Harford bemoaned the lack of a clinical striker after his side were beaten at home by Scunthorpe.

Rangers, beaten 5-0 at Nottingham Forest in midweek, had most of the possession but failed to take advantage and were punished when Garry Thompson broke the deadlock with 16 minutes remaining.

Harford admitted: "We need a goalscorer. The game should have been out of sight before Scunthorpe got the goal.

"Up to the penalty box, I thought we were excellent. I'm very disappointed with the result, but there were positives to take from it.

"I asked for an effort from the players and I certainly got that. If we play like that in every game between now and the end of the season then we'll be fine.

"The last couple of results have not helped my cause, but they have made me stronger and more determined to improve the team."
