Warnock to give Mahon opportunity

Manager Neil Warnock will give midfielder Gavin Mahon a chance to earn a new deal at QPR. The 33-year-old, out of contract in the summer, will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury and is yet to make an appearance since Warnock took control at Loftus Road last month. But the former Crystal Palace boss insists he will monitor Mahon's progress in pre-season training and will assess the veteran defensive midfielder before deciding on his future, He told the Fulham Chronicle: "He'll probably come back and do a pre-season with us and try and show me what he can do. "I've always liked Gavin, we've just got to wait and see who's available."
