Neil Warnock refused to let off-the-field issues ruin his enjoyment at guiding QPR to promotion back to the Barclays Premier League.
A 2-0 win at Watford, thanks to goals from Adel Taarabt and Tommy Smith, ensured Rangers got the result they needed on the pitch - but now they need one off it. The npower Championship title-winning party may have begun but in the back of everybody's minds is the outcome of next week's FA hearing into the transfer of Argentinian midfielder Alejandro Faurlin.
Warnock said: "It's a wonderful feeling. I think it's the best job I've ever done. I've got other promotions but not in such a short space of time, in 13 months from battling relegation to winning the Championship. Over the season the players have been magnificent. I can't fault any of them."
The FA hearing will begin on Tuesday and a decision on the seven charges facing the club is expected on Friday, the day before the final matches of the Championship season.
Warnock was furious at reports claiming they face a 15-point deduction if found guilty, and admitted his players were also affected.
"I just get on with winning games," he added. "When I looked at the coverage it destroyed us, the place was like a morgue.
"We're all guessing, we have to wait until Friday. I'm happy with what my barrister has told me. I don't fear anything, I was brought in to win promotion and that's what I've done.
"You can do without it as a manager but you've got to get on with it. I'll be glad when it's over and then I can talk about it."
Hornets boss Malky Mackay, whose side were the only team to beat Rangers at home this term, admitted: "They have been consistently the best team all season.
"But we joined in and tested them to the limit and matched them until 10 minutes from the end."
