Warnock hopes to maintain Cardiff memories

QPR boss Neil Warnock is hoping to rekindle some happy memories when he takes his table-toppers to Cardiff on Saturday.

Warnock was in charge of Sheffield United when they beat the Bluebirds 1-0 over the Easter weekend of 2006 to take a giant step towards promotion to the Premier League and he is looking to repeat the trick with Rangers.

"I love Cardiff, I've got good memories from there," he said.

"It's Easter weekend again so hopefully that will encourage us."

Rangers are eight points clear of second-placed Cardiff and the promotion race is hotting up behind the Welshmen.

"I'm sure there'll be a few other Championship clubs cheering us on," added Warnock.

"We are looking forward to it. There's no chance of Cardiff putting 10 men behind the ball so it should be a good game.

"It's not going to depend on Cardiff for us - but I think they have to beat us with Reading and Norwich breathing down their necks."
