Warnock happy with home start

QPR boss Neil Warnock was pleased to be handed a home game for their Championship opener. Rangers will host Barnsley when the season gets under way on August 7 and then welcome Port Vale to Loftus Road in the Carling Cup before their first away game - a trip to Warnock's former club Sheffield United. "It's always nice to start the campaign with a home match so we've got to be fairly happy with that," Warnock told the club's official website. "I don't think there will be much difference between any of the sides in the division next season, so it didn't really matter who we got. "I'm pleased we are at home, though - the Barnsley match followed by Port Vale a few days later will give some of the new lads a little bit more time to adjust to their new surroundings. "All in all, we've got to be quite happy."
