Warnock explains winger move

QPR boss Neil Warnock has admitted he moved to sign Southampton winger Jason Puncheon on loan after being impressed by his attitude.

Warnock made two failed attempts to sign the Saints winger during the summer before he finally concluded a deal for Puncheon late on Wednesday night, recruiting him on a four-month loan deal.

Puncheon is desperate to do well at Loftus Road having gained Premier League experience on loan at Blackpool last season, scoring three goals in 11 appearances, and Warnock is delighted that he was finally able to add him to his squad. He told the club's website:

"He is desperate to do well, and that really impressed me. To be perfectly honest, he was so keen to come to QPR I think he would have paid us!"It just made sense to give him an opportunity to come in until January and show us what he can do. This all happened very late in the day so I am very pleased we got him in."Jason is a good acquisition because he brings pace and plenty of desire."
