Warnock blasts `unfair' abuse

QPR manager Neil Warnock leapt to the defence of goalkeeper Paddy Kenny following the 3-0 win at their former club Sheffield United. The 32-year-old kept a clean sheet on his first return to Bramall Lane since ending his eight-year spell at the club in the summer and was subjected to "unfair" abuse, according to Warnock. "He expected it and knew he would get it," he said. "It is difficult because you only hear one side when you're up here. "The lad has had his wages slashed while he was banned. He asked for a new contract, didn't get a new contract and was told to wait until Christmas before he would get one. "Then I come in and they offer him a new contract. But I think it was the right time for Paddy to get away and have two or three years in a different environment. "I think Paddy Kenny has been an outstanding servant for Sheffield United, one of the best servants the club has had, and I think it was very, very unfair. I bet the people at the hospital he used to go and see, and the people he went and presented prizes to when he was the only player that would turn up, are not disappointed with him."
