Taarabt worry for leaders

QPR are sweating on the fitness of skipper Adel Taarabt ahead of the trip to Scunthorpe. The 15-goal midfielder hardly trained last week due to stomach pains but still managed 70 minutes of Monday night's 3-0 win over Sheffield United. Rangers have since sent Taarabt for a scan in a bid to find the cause of the problem. Hogan Ephraim will be in line for a recall if the Moroccan is ruled out. Boss Neil Warnock has an otherwise unchanged squad to choose from with defender Peter Ramage (cruciate) and striker Jamie Mackie (broken leg) the only long-term absentees. Rangers are nine points clear at the top of the Championship and need three more wins to be certain of promotion.
